UPDATED 5.58PM: One person has been taken to hospital following a crash on State Highway 2, near Katikati.

A police spokesperson says the road has been cleared.

"One person has gone to hospital with moderate injuries."

Emergency services are currently attending a crash on State Highway 2, near Katikati.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says Fire, ambulance and police are all in attendance.

'It happened in the south side lane, near the Claymark Sawmill.

'Traffic is down to one lane.”

A police spokesperson says they were called at around 4.40pm to the crash near Sharp Road and Hot Springs Road.

A message to the SunLive Facebook page says traffic is nearly backed up to the Aongatate pack house.
