UPDATED 8.47AM: The 73-year-old woman who went missing yesterday in Taupo has been found safe.

"Police would like to thank the public for their assistance," says a police spokesperson.

EARLIER:

Police are urgently appealing for sightings of a missing woman in Taupo.

Jill Will has not been seen since around 10pm yesterday, Sunday 14 April, and there are serious concerns for her wellbeing, says a police spokesperson.

"The 73-year-old was last seen at a residential address in Acacia Bay.

"Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen Jill in the Taupo area this morning, and ask that people be alert for anyone who could be her."
