Investigations ongoing into Te Puke death

Investigations are still underway after a body was found in Te Puke over the weekend.

The body is believed to be that of a rough-sleeper or homeless man, says police.

It was found at the back of the council buildings in Te Puke around 4pm on Saturday.

The service land behind the Te Puke War Memorial Hall building was cordoned off at both ends as conducted the investigation.

A police spokesperson says there were no new updates regarding the investigation as of this morning.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who was at or near the Te Puke Library or council building between 5pm on Friday May 10 and 4pm Saturday May 11.
