State Highway 29 is now open after being closed earlier this morning, following a truck crash.

A police spoksperson says they received a report of a truck and trailer going off the road at the intersection of SH29 and SH28 at around 4.50am.

"The truck was blocking one lane.

"Traffic control is in place and there was no reported injuries."

This highway was closed to allow for vehicle recovery.

NZTA reports there is traffic congestion following this morning's closure and motorists may want to use an alternative route.
