The Hinuera Railway Crossing is set to be re-opened this evening at 5pm.

The road was first closed at 6am on Saturday, June 8 for works to be done on the railway crossing.

In a statement, The New Zealand Transport Agency says the upgrades to the crossing includes the full removal of both lines that intersect SH29.

'All traffic will be detoured via Hopkins Road/Hinuera Road/SH27 expect for HPMVs which will use SH1/SH27 if travelling east or SH28/SH5/SH1 if travelling west.”
