Update 5.45pm Te Matai Rd has been reopened following a crash on Sunday afternoon.

Police have advised that one lane was opened at 5pm and the road was all clear at 5.30pm.

Earlier 3.58pm: One person is reported to be in critical condition following a two vehicle crash on Te Matai Rd on Sunday afternoon.

Police were notified of the collision between Te Kahika Road West and John Bird Road at 3.25pm.

One person is reported to have critical injuries, one person moderate injuries and one person minor injuries.

Witnesses at the scene say that one car is on one side of the road, and the other vehicle on the other side of the road.

The road is currently blocked, with ambulance, police and fire services at the scene.
