Eight out of 10 recently released KiwiBuild homes in the Kaimai Views subdivision are now under contract.

When Classic Builders released the first round of KiwiBuild homes in late May, four out of eight were under contract within the first two days, with a further three to follow.

Of the 18 KiwiBuild homes made available since May 21, 14 are under contract with strong interest continuing to flood in. In total there are 27 homes earmarked for KiwiBuild in the Kaimai Views development in Omokoroa.

Classic Group director Peter Cooney says interest continues to be high and further sales are expected.

We choose locations carefully, our designs are smart and make good use of space while creating attractive liveable homes, and we have reasonable section sizes as we know Kiwis prefer a bit of space. And you can feel the quality of these homes when you walk through them.”

Peter says it's becoming clear people making inquiries about buying a KiwiBuild home often benefit from being carefully walked through the process, so they can understand each step and requirement.

He says it's important they feel free to ask any question at all, no matter how small, because for most of them this is the first time they have bought a house and everything is new to them.

'KiwiBuild or not, these homes are built exactly the same way any other Classic Builders home is built; by the same builders, with products from the same reputable suppliers, to the same quality standards and expectations.”

As far as KiwiBuild nationally, Peter says some of the problems it faces could be related to companies not having the depth of experience to know how to create an affordable quality home that a buyer loves, while it still being a profitable exercise for the building company.
