A Papamoa resident is warning members of the public of broken glass around the Motiti Reserve playground.

The woman rang SunLive this morning to say the park had been ‘trashed' overnight with people drinking.

She says the broken glass bottles are a hazard, especially at the moment with it being school holidays.

The woman went to pick up some of the bottles earlier this morning.

'It is worse than I realised.”

She has rang the council and the police to notify them of the broken glass.

A member of the public says the glass seems to be cleaned up, however visitors should make sure to wear covered shoes and to be cautious of any loose glass around the playground.
