Motorists travelling northbound on State Highway 2 near the Girven Road intersection should expect delays this morning.

The NZTA says due to pothole repairs, the left lane is blocked near the Girven Road roundabout.

'Motorists are advised to expect delays or to avoid the area.”

The lane is expected to be reopened before midday.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE hotline says they experienced a 10 minute delay this morning due to the left lane being blocked.

The NZTA urge motorists to consider using the Sandhurst Dr exit, turn right and head toward Maranui St, turn left and continue onto Girven Rd. For SH29A West: Consider exiting at Sandhurst Dr, turn left onto Truman Ln, continue north onto SH29A.
