BOP man arrested after spate of burglaries

The man is appearing in Whakatane District Court next month.

A 27-year-old Bay of Plenty man is facing numerous charges following a spate of burglaries.

Bay of Plenty Police say the man is appearing in Whakatane District Court next month charged with a number of burglary and theft offences throughout Edgecumbe over the last few months.

'We're pleased to say that since the man's arrest earlier this month, a lot of this offending has stopped, which we hope will offer some further reassurance to our community,” says a post on the Bay of Plenty and Taupo Police Facebook page.

'We take offending like this very seriously, as we know what an impact it has on victims, and ask that anyone who is the victim of crime or has information that may be useful to Police to let us know.

'Any and all information provided to us is considered and acted upon as appropriate - small pieces of information can add up to helping piece together a wider picture.”

Information can either be given to your local police station or called in anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.

Alternatively, non-emergency information can also be given to the police's 105 number.
