Police report there has been a minor nose to tail collision on the Tauranga Eastern Link this morning.

The accident happened just after 10.10am on Saturday morning, after the Sandhurst off-ramp.

'The road wasn't blocked but it appears there was some traffic build up for a time,” says a Police spokesperson.

NZTA report that due to the crash on SH2 prior to the Girven Rd rounabout between SH29A and Girven Rd, a lane is blocked. Motorists are advised to pass the scene with care and expect delays.

NZTA also report that there is some traffic congestion on SH2 between Sandhurst Dr and Girven Rd in the northbound lane due to roadworks near the Bayfair Roundabout.

Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area.
