Are you looking for new talent for your business? Leaving school and thinking about a career in the trades? Or are you a tradie looking for an apprenticeship?

SpeedMeet 2019 is a collaboration of industry training organisations involved in the Got a Trade? Got it Made! initiative and the Ministry of Education. They will be held at locations throughout the country from now until 25 September.

'The event is an opportunity for businesses to discover the next generation of talented students ready to start their career, and new-career seekers to learn more about the trades while possibly finding their next job,” says a statement from Competenz.

'Based on the concept of speed-interviewing, employers meet with each prospective employee for six minutes to find out about each other.

'Matches are put in touch after the event, and if all goes well, potential job offers are made.”

This is a free event. Employers and career seekers are required to attend from 9am to 2.30pm.

To attend, register your interest at www.competenz.org.nz/speedmeet2019.

Speedmeet 2019 locations: Bay of Plenty:

September 19: Tauranga – Atrium Café.

September 25: Whakatane – Trident High School.
