Police are on the hunt for a driver who led them on a brief pursuit in Mount Maunganui today.

A vehicle was seen speeding near Concord Ave at 1.15pm.

A police spokesperson says it looks like the pursuit lasted about 20-30 seconds before being abandoned.

'The vehicle has been located in the Bayfair area.

'Police are currently conducting area searches looking for the driver.”

Anyone with information about the pursuit or who may know who the driver is, can contact Tauranga Police Station on 07 577 4300.
