Serious injuries in Te Puke crash

UPDATED: 8.39AM: One person is reported to have sustained serious injuries in a crash in Te Puke.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on No.2 Road at 7.35am.

A police spokesperson says they received a report of a vehicle colliding with a pedestrian.

'I understand one person has sustained serious injuries.”

People in the area have reported multiple emergency services heading to the scene of the crash.

A rescue helicopter has also been called to the scene, says a caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline.

Reports are coming in of a possible crash near Te Puke this morning.

SunLive has been contacted by a number of people saying there are a lot of emergency services in the area.

'There's is a heap of emergency people going down No.2 Road in Te Puke,” says a caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline.

'And there is a rescue helicopter.

'Something big is happening because the fire alarm has gone off four times.”
