People are reporting they have felt the earthquake which rattled the Bay of Plenty early this morning.
According to GeoNet, a 2.5 magnitude earthquake hit within 5km of Rotorua around 4am.
GeoNet says it had a focal depth of 4km.
People in Rotorua say they felt the quake and a resident in Bethlehem says she was woken at the time.
Two other earthquakes have been recorded in the Rotorua area.
A 1.5 magnitude quake at 4.01am and another 1.5 one at 4.28am.
