Tauranga City Council's medium round for Match Fund grants are now open.

This means community groups can apply for up to 50 per cent of their project costs up $10,000.

'Our Match Fund supports initiatives that foster strong and vibrant communities – projects that are led by our community for our community,” says a council spokesperson.

'In the last financial year, we've supported events like Tauranga Moana Pride Picnic and Keep NZ Beautiful clean-ups. We've helped create a fitness trail in Welcome Bay and a walkway/cycleway at Gate Pa School.

'We've also provided support towards revitalising the women's space at Tauranga Mosque and enabling Age Concern to offer as assisted shopping service.

'These are only a few of the awesome projects we've got behind. All these projects have a positive impact on our communities, so we want to keep the initiative going.”
