Tauranga City Council is seeking feedback from the community on planned upgrades to Kulim Park.

Council plans to upgrade the park next year to meet the needs of the community and make it even better for everyone.

The project went on hold in February this year and was reviewed with other Council projects by Max Pederson. The project has recently come off hold and we will consult with the community for a third time on 26 October.

As requested by the community, one of the key objectives for the project is to relocate parking to the rear of the site to prevent cars from parking on the grassed areas. Other planned upgrades include providing more seating and picnic tables, completing the shared path that runs between Fergusson Park and Maxwells Road, creating a safer place for children to play and improving drainage.

The community feedback received on 26 October will be used to make final changes to the design concept, and to determine the overall budget of the project, which will be presented to Council for approval in December 2019. Council initiated the project in 2017 and has consulted with the community twice.
