The Bay of Plenty Steamers have stormed through to the final of the Mitre 10 Cup championships.

The Steamers thrashed Manawatu on Friday night with a final score of 64-3 in their semi-final game at the Rotorua International Stadium.

It was a very difficult first half for the Turbos who struggled against the classy Steamers. The Bay of Plenty team were in the lead at half time (31-3), scoring five tries in each half.

The second half was also a disappointment for the Hawke's Bay team, with Bay of Plenty showing they thoroughly deserve their spot in the play-off final.

This afternoon, Saturday October 19, the second semi-final between Otago and Hawke's Bay kicks off in Napier at 4.35pm. The winner will play Bay of Plenty in next week's championship final in Rotorua.
