Acclaimed US multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter, and adored folk artist Sneaky Bones is returning to New Zealand, making a stop in Tauranga on November 30.

Matthew Bean, who writes and performs under the pseudonym ‘Sneaky Bones', will set out on his second tour across New Zealand to support his recently released third full-length record – Strangers I've Already Met.

He was in New Zealand back in March 2018 as a solo act and this time he is returning this time with the full outfit. He will be joined by Marshall Wildman on drums and Austin Webb on bass and guitar.

'The music is just kind of under the broad umbrella of Folk Music and it's nice to be back down here with the band this time,” says Matthew.

'We kind of bounce around instruments a lot. Because we all play a bunch of different instruments, a lot of the tunes, the arrangements wise, it's more of a focus on instrumentation rather than who's playing what.”

He says since they have been playing live shows and touring the new record, it has had a really great response.

'It's going to be a really cool night of a lot of different kind of styles all under the umbrella of American roots and folk music.”

The new album ‘Strangers I've Already Met' was released in May and since then he has already done a big tour in Europe.

He says the New Zealand tour is a debt for the record down here.

'We spent two weeks in Upstate New York in a barn tacking that record. It was a record that we took a lot of time with and really had time to work on the songs and get the music to kind of fit the vehicle that is the song.”

Sneaky Bones and the ‘Strangers I've Already Met' NZ tour will make a stop in at Tauranga on Saturday November 30, at The Incubator.
