Car crashes into power pole in Bethlehem

Police are investigating a crash in Bethlehem where a car crashed into a power pole.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Westmorland Rise at 9.30am.

A police spokesperson says the road was initially blocked when officers arrived at the scene.

'The driver was out of the car and walking around.”

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

This is just one of a number of crashes which have taken place around Tauranga this morning.

Earlier, emergency services were called to a serious crash on Matapihi Road.

'One person was reported to have sustained serious injuries.”

Witnesses say both vehicles had to have roofs removed in order to free the people inside.

Police are investigating this crash.
