UPDATE 1.45PM: Police are currently responding to reports of a family harm incident in Bethlehem.

"It appears that the alleged offender lit a small fire near a garage, which has been since put out - which will explain the FENZ presence," says a police spokesperson.

"There are no reports of injuries at this stage.

"One person has been taken into custody regarding this incident and we're currently taking statements."

EARLIER:

A large police presence has been spotted heading along State Highway 2, towards Bethlehem.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says he was sitting on his deck when he saw police go screaming past.

"I saw at least five police cars and a fire truck, all with lights and sirens going.

"Might be an accident somewhere."
