Emergency services are responding to an incident of a car hitting a tree in Te Puna this evening.
The single-vehicle crash on State Highway 2 was reported at 8.15pm.
"It appears the single occupant of the vehicle has left the vehicle," says a Police spokesperson.
"Efforts are underway to locate them."
