Traffic delays are being reported in Maungatapu this morning.

SunLive has received a number of reports that the road, leading from the Welcome Bay roundabout to Te Maunga, is closed.

However, there are no reports of road closures from NZ Transport Agency or the police.

According to Google Live Traffic reporting, traffic is flowing along SH29a, but is stalled on Maungatapu Road near the off-ramp to the highway.

A police spokesperson says they were called to a single-vehicle crash on SH29a at 3.37am.

The crash was on the Maungatapu Bridge, on the Mount Maungaui side.

"The occupant of the vehicle was taken to hospital.

"The southbound side of the road was bocked for a period of time. The vehicle was cleared from th scene at 4.51am."
