Waipuna Hospice has received a donation of $24,427 following a nationwide Christmas fundraising campaign.
The Farmers Remembrance Tree Campaign saw more than $760,000 donated to hospice services around the country.
Funds raised from sales of “limited edition baubles” went towards the campaign, along with donations made to the tree of remembrance.
100 per cent of all funds donated in each store remains in the local community.
“Every dollar from the Remembrance Appeal will help Waipuna Hospice to provide essential care and support to those facing a terminal illness and their families," CEO of Waipuna Hospice Richard Thurlow says.
A total of $2.4 million has been donated to New Zealand hospices since the annual campaign kicked off five years ago.
“For five years now the entire Farmers team has embraced supporting hospice at Christmas and alongside their customers continue to make a real difference to people using hospice services throughout NZ,” Mary Schumacher, CEO of Hospice NZ says.
"It is humbling to be the beneficiary of such generosity and kindness.”
