Double homicide: vehicle of interest found

Police have located a vehicle wanted in connection to a double homicide in Tauranga.

On Sunday, police issued an appeal for information about a blue Ford Territory Ghia AWD wanted in relation to the death of two people at an Ormsby Lane address in Omanawa on Tuesday, February 11.

The vehicle was seized yesterday afternoon.

District manager of criminal investigations Detective Inspector Mark Loper says the two men who died at the property were aged 32 and 43, and police believe they were known to each other.

"We are still working to understand the circumstances of the deaths and the involvement of any other parties."

A 25-year-old Bay of Plenty man is facing a murder charge after being arrested in Christchurch last week.

Police are also investigating a fatal Police shooting on Thursday.
