Police are on the hunt for a driver who led officers on a pursuit in Tauranga.
A police spokesperson says a driver travelling at excess speed failed to stop about 4.58am.
Police attempted to pull the vehicle over on Grenada Street, Mt Maunganui.
'A pursuit was initiated.
'About two minutes later, the vehicle was abandoned on Truman Lane and the occupant has decamped.
'Police are still in the area working to locate them.”
