Two people are due to appear in court following a police pursuit in the Bay of Plenty, which lasted only a matter of seconds.
A police spokesperson says a car initially failed to stop when signalled to do so at 12.30am.
A brief pursuit was initiated at the intersection of Stewart and Hinemoa streets in Whakatane.
'It did stop within a matter of seconds though and two people were taken into custody,” says police.
A 23-year-old woman is due to appear in Whakatane District Court today for failing to stop for police.
A 23-year-old man, arrested for aiding dangerous driving and unlawfully taking a motor vehicle.
He is scheduled to appear in court on August 18.
