A crash on State Highway 2 near the Te Maunga roundabout is causing traffic delays on SH2 as well SH29A.

A police spokesperson says there is a vehicle collision on SH2 and ambulance are also in attendance.

The NZ Transport agency says the northbound lane of SH2 between Sandhurst Drive and Te Maunga Roundabout is closed. Motorists are advised to follow the detour and expect delays.

A SunLive reader has messaged SunLive saying there is an accident near Baypark and motorists on SH2 northbound are being redirected to Sandhurst Drive or Truman Lane.

The roundabout at Baypark is open but reduced to one lane, the reader says.

A St John spokesperson says they received a call at 12.27pm and sent one ambulance which is still at the scene.

SunLive is working to get more information and will update the story when we can.
