Delays are expected in the Te Maunga area after a truck and trailer has broken down at Te Maunga roundabout State Highway 2/State Highway 29A, Mt Maunganui.

The truck has blown a tyre and is blocking one of the lanes heading toward Papamoa.

Traffic management crew are onsite assisting Police to safely manage traffic through the roundabout.

"Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible or to expect delays," says Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.

"People can also visit the Waka Kotahi Journey Planner website (journeys.nzta.govt.nz) for up to date information on the breakdown, traffic and delays.
