No.3 Road near Te Puke is open this morning following a fatal crash.
One person died when two vehicles crashed on the Western Bay of Plenty road at 3.45pm.
A police spokesperson says the road was closed for several hours to allow the serious crash unit to examine the scene.
SunLive has been told that the road was re-opened around 9pm.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
