Police are investigating the death of a five-month-old baby.
The investigation is underway after the Rotorua infant died over the weekend.
A police spokesperson says the baby has been in Starship Hospital prior to passing away.
Police did not confirm whether the death is being treated as suspicious.
'Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances.”
The baby's death is being referred to the coroner.
