Bay of Plenty Rugby have released the 2021 Toi Ohomai Baywide Women's club rugby draw which is set to kick off on Sunday, April 11.

A short and sharp season will be played in this year's competition with a single round robin followed by semi-finals on Queen's Birthday before the season concludes with a first versus second final Sunday, June 13.

Mount Maunganui, Opotiki, Rangataua, Rangiuru, Rotoiti, Te Teko and Waikite are all competing for this year's title.

Head of Marketing and Communication at Toi Ohomai, Jessica Barnett, said the institute is looking forward to supporting the women's club competition again this year.

'Toi Ohomai is committed to supporting wahine in the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato and this partnership is just one piece of that puzzle,” says head of marketing and communication at Toi Ohomai, Jessica Barnett.

'It is exciting to see the opportunities for women to get involved with the game and we look forward to seeing who takes home the top position this year.”

Women's Rugby Development Officer, Kendra Reynolds, is excited at the opportunity for players to experience our game and get involved in every aspect from playing, coaching, refereeing and management for yet another year.

Kendra has also picked out her match of each round including a first round clash between last year's finalists Rangataua and Rangiuru at Te Ariki Park on Maungatapu Rd.

Kendra says it is 'a match that includes females of all levels from Black Ferns to first year players these two clubs always put on a show.”

The rest of Kendra's picks are week two; Mount Maunganui vs Waikite, week three; Rangataua vs Mount Maunganui, week four; Waikite vs Rotoiti, a Central Bay Clash, week five; Te Teko vs Waikite, week six; Rangiuru vs Mount Maunganui, week seven; Te Teko vs Opotiki, an Eastern Bay Clash.
