LIVE: Covid vaccine update

Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield is expected to be fronting media this afternoon to provide an update on the Covid vaccine rollout in New Zealand.

He is expected to be live from 1pm.

SunLive will be live streaming the event above, and providing updates throughout the afternoon for those who are no able to tune into the live stream.

The numbers as we know them to date

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Health reported no new cases of Covid-19 in the community.

There were also no new cases reported in recent returnees in managed isolation facilities since the Ministry's last update on Monday.

The seven-day rolling average of new cases detected at the border is two.

Since January 1, there have been 75 historical cases, out of a total of 537 cases.

The total number of confirmed cases is unchanged at 2353, as one previously confirmed case has now been classified as under investigation.

The number of previously reported cases that have now recovered is four.

The total number of active cases in New Zealand today is 23.

Same as last week - slow. Lots of horror stories in Auckland about the delays and stuff ups. I predict an outbreak here very soon.
