Cyclist injured in Mount Maunganui incident

A cyclist has been injured in an incident involving a car in Mount Maunganui.

Police have confirmed they were alerted to the incident on Oceanbeach Road at around 10.27am.

'The cyclist is reported to have collided with the door of a stationary vehicle,” says a police spokesperson.

St John have confirmed they received a call at 10.21am to a motor vehicle incident.

'One ambulance has responded to the scene,” says a St John spokesperson.

'St John is treating one patient in a moderate condition.”

Tauranga City Council have also advised of an incident on Oceanbeach Road near Girven Road.

The road was initially closed to allow for emergency services to treat the patient but it has now reopened.
