BBQ restaurant among 14 locations of interest

UPDATE 2.30pm: A total of 14 locations of interest in the Tauranga area have been added to the Ministry of Health advice today.

They include locations in Mount Maunganui, Tauranga and Papamoa including a strip club, a Mongolian BBQ joint, supermarket and petrol station.

Previous advice regarding the iKandi club at 313 Maunganui Road locations of interest has now been updated.

The MOH is advising that anyone who was at iKandi at the following times must self-isolate and test immediately and again on day five after the day of exposure.

The times are: Wednesday, November 17 from 8.45pm to 11.59pm; Thursday, November 18 from 12am to 1am and 8.45pm to 11.59pm; Friday, November 19 from 12am to 2am and again from 8.45pm to 11.59pm and Saturday, November 20 from 12am to 2am.

Essentially, if at iKandi on the evenings of Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, after 8.45pm and into the early hours of the morning, you should get tested immediately and self-isolate.

Anyone at Gengy's BBQ buffet Restaurant at 159 Durham Street from 7.10pm to 10.15pm on Tuesday, November 16 should also get tested immediately and on day five after exposure. They must also self-isolate.

Further isolation and testing requirements will be provided by Public Health. Record your visit online or call Healthline so contact tracers can get in touch.

Other locations of interest include Countdown Bayfair on Wednesday, November 17 from 5.45pm to 7.20pm; Pie Boy Pies at Papamoa Beach Road/Parton Road roundabout on Friday, November 19 from 10.38am to 11.53am and Caltex Bayfair on Friday, November 19 from 6.05pm to 7.30 pm.

Those at those locations should self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days after you were exposed at this location of interest. If symptoms develop, get a test and stay at home until you get a negative test result and until 24 hours after symptoms resolve.

This comes after 12 new cases were announced in the Bay of Plenty today.

EARLIER 12.45PM: The Ministry of Health have announced 10 new locations of interest around the Mount Maunganui and Tauranga areas.

Of these locations, nine of them are in Mount Maunganui and one is in Tauranga.

One of the locations is iKandi Mount Maunganui on six separate occasions.

If anyone visited the establishment during these times, the Ministry of Health says to self-isolate and get tested immediately and again on day 5 after you were exposed at this location of interest.

'Further isolation and testing requirements will be provided by Public Health. Record your visit online or call Healthline so our contact tracers can get in touch.”

Other locations include Caltex Bayfair on Tuesday November 16 from 7:45am to 9:10am, Uppercrust Bakery Mount Maunganui from 9:04am to 10:24am, EasyPuff Vape Store Mount Maunganui from 8:55am to 10:21am and Chadwick Road Dairy Tauranga from 10:08am to 11:25am.

The Ministry of Health says those who have visited those locations during those times should Self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days after you were exposed at this location of interest.

Bars, eating out 24/7 and strip clubs seem to be a common theme. The Government needs to get people out of poverty.
