Locations of interest at two BOP hospitals

UPDATE 6.10pm: Whakatane Hospital joins Tauranga Hospital in being named a location of interest for Covid-19 exposure today.

Anyone who was at Whakatane Acute Care Unit on Sunday, November 21 from 5pm-11.59pm through to Monday, November 22 between 12am-2am should self-isolate and test immediately.

A further test is required on day five after you were exposed at this location of interest. Further isolation and testing requirements will be provided by Public Health.

That same strong advice applies for anyone who was at the Whakatane Hospital Emergency Department on Sunday, November 21, from 2pm-6.15pm.

Two other locations of interest have also been added; one in Rotorua the other in Tauranga.

Anyone that used the Westpac ATM New World in Hillcrest on Monday, November 22 between 7.24am-8.39am or visited the Unichem Cherrywood in Otumoetai between 4pm and 5.45pm on the same day should self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days after you were exposed at this location of interest. If symptoms develop, get a test and stay at home until you get a negative test result and until 24 hours after symptoms resolve.

PREVIOUSLY 4.10pm: Four more locations of interest in Rotorua have been added to the Ministry of Health's official list.

They include a supermarket, petrol station and fast food outlet.

Anyone at the Mobil Te Ngae in Ngapuna on Friday, November 19 from 6.32 am to 8.02 am, the KFC on Amohau Street in Rotorua on the same day from 8.22pm and 9.37pm should self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days after exposure at this location of interest.

If symptoms develop, get a test and stay at home until you get a negative test result and until 24 hours after symptoms resolve.

The same advice applies for anyone at the Goldstar Bakery on Old Taupo Road, Mangakakahi, on Monday, November 22 from 6.21am to 7.46am and the PAKnSAVE Rotorua on Amohau Street on Wednesday, November 24 from 4.45pm to 9pm.

EARLIER 12.45pm: There are five new locations of interest in the Bay of Plenty region listed today, including two at the Tauranga Hospital Emergency Department over the weekend and two more in the Eastern Bay.

Anyone who was at the Emergency Department of Tauranga Hospital on Saturday, November 20 between 8.42pm and 11.59pm into Sunday, November 21 between 12am and 1.10 am should self-isolate.

You should also test immediately and on day five after exposure at the location.

Further isolation and testing requirements will be provided by Public Health.

Locations of interest have also been added in Whakatane and Taneatua.

Anyone at the Gull Landing on the Corner Landing Road & King Street on Wednesday, November 24 between 5.20am and 6.35am or the Bakehouse Taneatua on Tuhoe Street between 5.45am and 7am on the same day is asked to self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days after you were exposed at this location of interest. If symptoms develop, get a test and stay at home until you get a negative test result and until 24 hours after symptoms resolve.

The Pied Piper Ice Cream Truck at Memorial Park in Tauranga has also been added to the locations of interest. Anyone at the truck between 2.40pm and 3.40pm on Saturday, 20 November should self-monitor for Covid-19 symptoms for 10 days after you were exposed at this location of interest. If symptoms develop, get a test and stay at home until you get a negative test result and until 24 hours after symptoms resolve.

This is a correction to the Ministry of Health advice yesterday advising that a Mr Whippy truck was a location of interest. This was an error. No Mr Whippy truck has been established as a location of interest in Tauranga.
