Police are appealing to the public for information about a missing American Citizen sailing around New Zealand.

A post on New Zealand Police Missing Persons Facebook page says 26-year-old Sean D'Epagnier last made contact with family in May.

Sean D'Epagnier has been missing since May.

Sean is described as having blond hair, a beard and blue eyes.

The post reports the man was sailing his 50-year-old yacht named Alexandra - a 27foot long yacht with large solar panels and no engine.

Sean's family is concerned for his safety and asks anyone who may have information about him to contact their local police station.
