Police have identified the woman whose body was found in Pilot Bay this morning.

Police were called to Pilot Bay after reports of a body seen floating in the harbour, near Pacific Ave.

Cordons were put up while police examined the scene and removed the woman's body.

These have since been stood down.

In a statement released this afternoon, a police spokesperson says they have formally identified the woman.

"Her death is not being treated as suspicious, and will be referred to the Coroner."
