A man is recovering after being stabbed in the arm in Otumoetai.

Police were called about 8.30am on Sunday to the Cherrywood shops following reports of a man being assaulted near the ATM machine and having his belongings taken.

'The man was taken to hospital for treatment,” says a police spokesperson.

'Enquiries are ongoing.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact their nearest police station.
