State Highway 29 is reportedly blocked due to fallen trees.
A caller to 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says the highwyay is blocked on both directions due to fallen trees near the Kaimai Summit.
The caller says he is "unable to pass" after being about halfway down the Matamata side.
Google Maps is showing the traffic is building up on both sides of the road near the Rapurapu Kauri Track.
