Update 5.30pm: Traffic is now flowing smoothly along SH2, Whakamārama following a two vehicle crash, according to Google Maps.

The crash was located between Francis Road and Esdaile Road.

Earlier 4.24pm: Emergency services are attending the scene of a crash on SH2, Whakamārama between Francis Road and Esdaile Road.

"Southbound traffic is being diverted to the Old Highway," says a police spokesperson.

A caller to 0800 SUNLIVE says the traffic is building up following the crash, causing delays.

According to Google Maps, traffic is moving slowly between Pahoia School and Ōmokoroa Road.
