Petrol station assault: Alleged driver arrested

A man is due to appear in court today after being arrested in connection to an assault involving a vehicle in the Bay of Plenty.

A pedestrian was run over and suffered serious injuries during an incident at Caltex Ranolf Street, Rotorua, on Monday, October 17.

In a statement released this week, police say they have arrested the alleged driver.

"A 25-year-old Rotorua man has been charged with wounding with intent to injure and is scheduled to appear in Rotorua District Court today.

"The vehicle involved in the incident has also been seized.

"Police would like to thank members of the public who got in touch to provide information to assist our enquiries."
