Police car rammed in Matapihi following theft

SunLive readers are reporting an incident involving police cars in Matapihi.

"Police located a vehicle at about 2pm today, in Matapihi, Tauranga, which had been seen at the scene of a theft earlier today," says a police spokesperson.

"A Police car approached the vehicle and was rammed by the car, which then fled the area."

Police are now working to locate the vehicle.

Ramming a police car should carry a sentence of assault with a deadly weapon. No more excuses

Because lets be honest, assault with a weapon under this government will barely get you community hours... I wonder what sentence the person that set the cop car on fire the other day will get
