UPDATE: Delays are being reported on State Highway 29, Tauriko, following a crash.

The southbound lane of the highway is partially bloked while emergency services respond to a crash involving three vehicles, said a police spokesperson in a statement.

"Several people are reported to have been injured, none of them seriously.

"Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and to expect delays."

Two SunLive readers have emailed in saying there is a crash at Tauriko and the road is blocked.

One of the readers said traffic was backed up on SH29 going out of town.

Hato Hone St John said they were notified of a motor vehicle incident on SH 29, Tauriko, at 6.36am.

"One ambulance responded," said a spokesperson in a statement.

"Three patients, all in minor conditions, were assessed and treated at the scene, no transport required."

Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area.
