"The Holden Commodore stopped at the lights and caught fire. Not sure what caused it."
A Northern Fire communications spokesperson says the original call came in as a vehicle crash.
Only one vehicle appears to be involved in the incident.
"Police have been called to the scene to handle traffic.
"One appliance from Mount Maunganui was dispatched and crews are still working to put the fire out."

A Holden, say no more, that says it all. Typically mediocre Australian workmanship this time reflected in the cars they make. No surprise that it suddenly caught fire. The only Holden I would buy would be one made in Europe by Opel, but never one made by Australians.
