Surely this should be a charge of reckless rather than dangerous driving. The vice grips are evidence of obvious intent to operate the 'car' in that condition

Take the license off them and ban them from owning a vehicle and no drivers license for 10 years !!!!

The WOF rules ( VIRM) says that you can substitute the steering wheel without any certification ( falls below the threshold for modification). If the vehicle does not have an airbag installed as OE, and the vehicle is not required to comply with a frontal impact occupant protection standard
Surprised?

do not insult the intelligence of (I hope) most Sunlive readers with this bollocks...the damned thing should not be on the road and an intelligent driver would know that..Hmmm..there's the problem....

Where is the usual suspects on this one who are very vocal whenever the word "truck" is mentioned. Maildrop this is what you should be scared of when on the road. Here is a killer lurking amongst us. One only has to watch highway patrol to see all the unregestered unwarretable cars which are told to "drive it straight home please" only to be seen driving around the countryside days later.
Hey Groutby

My point exactly! but not everybody has the same intelligence....the law is in the act and the WOF interpretation is in the VIRM ...I quoted directly from that document... The VIRM is the manual written for vehicle inspectors and specifies the inspection processes and the requirements that vehicles must meet in order to pass a WoF or CoF.

You are babbling man. It's not English as I know it so I cannot decipher it. I didn't realise vice grips were such a problem on our roads. Thanks for the warning of this killer lurking amongst us. It certainly appears to be out of control this week. Note to self: must point out the bleeding obvious when a stupid car driver crashes otherwise Ken not happy.
@CC8....

warranted or registered?, your rant does not mean "Jack", basically anyone with a I.Q. over -10 would know that trying to drive a vehicle in this condition was a bloody dumb thing to do, end of story!!!
