A video of postman in Te Puke patting his canine friend has gone viral since being posted to Facebook last night.
Michael Collins posted a video of a Steve Hennum giving nine-month-old Kyza a hug and pat has he does his rounds in Te Puke.
Kyza and postman Steve Hennum have become unlikely friends. Watch the video below. Photo: Facebook.
Since posting the video at 12.30pm, 550,000 people have viewed it and 6448 people have shared it.
'Just want to share something coo!,” says Michael in a post accompanying the video.
'Everyday whether or not we have mail, this mail man always stops to see my dog who is only nine-months-old. He always gets over looked as a dangerous or unapproachable dog,” the post continues.
'Maybe because he's big, I'm not sure. He doesn't bark at them or growl (maybe the odd couple times he barks at people but which dog doesn't).
'But this guy here always makes an effort to get off his bike to give him a hug and a pat! I'm not sure who to tag on Facebook for him to see this! But thanks man keep up the good job and you've definitely got a friend waiting for ya!!”

Finally, some positive news. Can this be the headline for the next circular? Would make for much better reading, bit of a boost for NZ Post too
