Bill Holland has been re-elected as the Chairperson of the Tauranga Energy Consumer Trust.
The appointment was made at the first Board meeting of the Trust since its biennial election, which was held earlier this year.
Bill Holland will once again chair the TECT board.
'I am delighted to be re-appointed to the position, and look forward to further contributing to the growth of TECT,” says Bill following his re-election to the position of chairman.
'TECT's contribution to the Tauranga/Western Bay community is enormous and I look forward to working with my fellow Trustees to further the good work of the Trust.”
Bill, a Tauranga lawyer, has been a TECT Trustee since 2012.
He was born, raised and educated in Tauranga, and is a partner of Holland Beckett, Lawyers.
He has a long list of involvement in community organisations including: Acorn Foundation, Community Foundations of NZ, Legacy Trust, Priority One, Holy Trinity, Tauranga Boys College Old Boys Assn, Tauranga Sunrise Rotary Club, and Tauranga Rowing Club.
In 2012, Bill was awarded a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to the community.
Paul Tustin has been elected as Deputy Chairperson.
'I am delighted that Paul has been appointed as Deputy Chair,” says Bill.
'He has been an outstanding contributor over the past two years and is a very worthy appointment as Deputy Chair.”
It was also the first meeting for newly elected Trustees Amanda Sutcliffe and Natalie Bridges who were elected by Consumers for four-year terms.

It's an open invitation to go for it and splurge TECT funds on the baubles and bangles.
@kellbell's miserable comment

Maybe Kellbell's cynical comment means he or she doesn't realise the purpose of TECT which owns shares in an electricity company and gives the profits it gets for community purposes. So if Kellbell thinks all those groups and facilities that get much needed funding from TECT are baubles and bangles then Kellbell is welcome to wallow in his or her own misery. Many in the community who don't just think of themselves both support and receive from TECT.
