An earthquake centred off East Cape this morning was felt in Gisborne, Whakatane and Edgecumbe, Geonet reports.
The 5.7 Richter scale earthquake was centred 100 km north east of Te Araroa, and happened at 10.04am New Zealand time, at a depth of 25km.
