Thousands of tourists will be descending on Tauranga today as the Celebrity Solstice makes her way into the Port of Tauranga.

The 19 deck cruise ship was spotted by cruising into Tauranga Harbour around 7am.

According to the Port of Tauranga's schedule, the ship was due at 7.15am and is expected to depart at 8.30pm tomorrow.

Some of the amenities on the ship include a large theatre with a 1400+ seating capacity, multiple restaurant dining options, The Patio on the Lawn, numerous bars and clubs, Solstice Deck, youth facilities, Online@Celebrity, and many other common and unique features. Some unique features include glass-blowing classes/demonstrations as well as The Lawn Club, a live grass lawn between the ship's funnels on the upper deck.

The next cruise ship due in Tauranga will be the Emerald Princess on November 23 at 8.45am.
